New Video: Pre-Mold and Post-Mold manufacturing capabilities
At Morgan Polymer Seals, we employ several critical capabilities before and after the molding process to ensure quality products for our global OEM customers.
Here are just a few of the pre-mold, and post-mold capabilities that support the gaskets and seals we manufacture in Mexico.
Adhesive Coating and Bonding
Some overmolded products require a chemical bond to combine multiple components into one seal. For these overmolded seals, we treat the component with a chemical adhesive before the seal is overmolded. In this example, a metal carrier is sprayed with a special coating before the rubber is overmolded onto the metal. Adhesive coating is a specialized pre-mold process to support quality bonding for rubber overmolded products.
Robotics and Automation
Robotics help to add consistency and greatly accelerate the manufacturing process, thus saving time and money for our customers. As seen here, an overmolded gasket is manufactured with cutting-edge robotics to streamline a complex manufacturing process. Later, we use automated vision inspection to fully inspect the finished product before delivery. Our vision inspection machines are custom-designed and built by our automation engineers in Mexico.
Leak Testing
Leak Testing is a specialized method for in-process manufacturing validation. Our technical team performs in-house validation to ensure each molded product meets the application specifications set by our customers. By collaborating with our customers, we achieve industry-leading quality metrics year after year.
OGP Video Inspection
Optical Gaging Products supplies our non-contact dimensional measurement system used to measure parts for PPAP and process capability. We use this equipment to ensure that we meet our customers' expectations and comply with IATF-16949.
Silicone Printing
Silicone Printing, also known as “marking," is a critical identification requirement for some of our electrical connector seals. At our focused-factory, we use these specialized printing machines to add silicone wire and pin identification to connector seals used for electrical systems.
