Behind the Scenes at Morgan Polymer Seals: Pre- and Post-Mold Capabilities that Drive Quality

At Morgan Polymer Seals, our commitment to quality doesn’t stop at the molding press. Every gasket and seal we manufacture in Mexico benefits from a series of specialized processes before and after molding — all designed to ensure precision, durability, and reliability for our global OEM customers.

This video offers a glimpse into several of these critical capabilities. Here’s a summary of what you’ll see:

Adhesive Coating and Bonding

Some overmolded products require a strong chemical bond to combine multiple materials into a single, high-performance seal.
Before molding, our team treats metal carriers and other components with specialized chemical adhesives, ensuring optimal rubber-to-metal bonding during the overmold process. This pre-mold step is vital for producing long-lasting seals that perform under demanding conditions.

Robotics and Automation

Automation plays a major role in how we build efficiency and consistency into every product.
In the video, you’ll see how our robotic systems streamline complex overmolding operations — improving throughput while maintaining precise quality control.
Once molded, each gasket passes through our custom-built automated vision inspection machines, designed and engineered by our in-house automation team in Mexico. These systems detect even the smallest inconsistencies, ensuring every part shipped meets our customers’ exacting standards.

Leak Testing an Overmolded Filter Plate

Leak Testing

Every product we make is validated for performance.
Our in-house leak testing systems verify that each molded seal meets application-specific requirements before approval. Working closely with our customers’ engineering teams, we continually refine our validation methods — helping us maintain industry-leading quality metrics year after year.

OGP Vision Inspection Machine

OGP Video Inspection

To support dimensional accuracy and compliance, we rely on Optical Gaging Products (OGP) for non-contact measurement.
This advanced inspection equipment is used to validate parts for PPAP and process capability studies, ensuring we fully meet IATF-16949 quality management standards and customer specifications.

Electrical Connector Seal with Silicone Printing

Silicone Printing

In our focused factory, you’ll also see our silicone printing (or marking) process — a critical post-mold capability for electrical connector seals.
These specialized machines apply wire and pin identification directly to the silicone material, providing traceability and ensuring correct installation in complex electrical systems.
